How do I become a personal trainer part time with no college?

helpandseek asked:

I’m in great shape, and very educated about bodybuilding, fitness, and health. I’d like to work part time as a personal trainer. I know this can be done without college at local gyms, but does anyone know how to go about doing it?

Contact the Y or local gym. Talk to them in person, show them how U have enough knowledge and skills which compare to training desired for trainers. Let them know u r interested in applying for a position.

Getting the word out about your service is key. Use all available media–make flyers and business cards, post on craigslist and fitness blogs, put ads in the newspaper, and definitely get in contact with gyms and the Y’s in your town. Go in person.

As for credentials, there are a number of organizations that offer programs to earn personal training certificates.
is just one. There are some online training courses as well that are worth checking out.

    Good luck!
