What is the difference between personal trainer certification and personal trainer license?

I have found a school that offers personal trainer certification, however I do know that there is a difference in the certification and actuall licensure. What is the difference and how do you get liscensed after the cert is complete? Also with what organization is the best to get licensed under?

   There is no personal training liscence. A liscence is when you are required by law to show documentation that you are competetent to do something, like driving a car or being a medical doctor.
   A certification is showing a level of competency by a governing organization, such as in you get certified in CPR. The government has nothing to do with it.
   And why become a personal trainer when you can get a degree and become an exercise specialist? Lots more money there.
